In the last few days the lower Avon has sprung a leak at Wyre Weir, 1 mile upstream of Pershore.  Emergency repairs have been carried out in the form of placing many tons of boulders in the weir.

The weir is now dangerous to shoot because  boulders are now in the line of the usual descent at the foot of the weir.

The weir is dangerous and must now be treated with great caution.  Inspection is necessary, in any level of water. 

Be prepared to walk.

There is a canoe portage path, river left.  alongside the lock.
